Completed Intake DYI pics step by step...

With a bored throttle body, I find it hard not to smile every time I give it some gas. My gas tank sure does empty faster than it used to, but the truck is also a blast to drive. I also dont ever keep a full tank of gas anymore; its just added weight over the rear axle which is never a good thing unless its snowing out.

Total Costs were Approximately as follows:
Spectre Filter from Autozone - $25
Spectre breather filter " - $10
3" to 3" coupler (lowes) - $6.50
90* ABS street elbow - $4.50
45* Street ABS -$4.00
(10FT of 3" ABS-$20.00) -$2.00
If you break that down to the foot that's $2 per foot.
So apx. $52.00 not counting pvc glue and rtv/grommet. But you can also save $10 by running your breather tube back into the intake, the little filter was just so much easier.
Oh and I already have a flowmaster so I know about the driving in lower gears because it sounds cool disease

I stopped by Lowes yesterday and was checking out the parts I would need and I noticed that they sale 3" ABS pipe in 2' and 10' sections.
So I am going to swing by and pick up all the parts at Lowes and then go to O`Reillys and get the gromment kit. I am going to tap the breather hose into the intake.
Like others, I too have concerns about a heat shield. I am going to run the filter into the stock airbox and see if that makes a difference.
