You should be able to see the second (rear) one if you look at your rear passenger side wheel well it is behind the rear wheel, not in the wheel well itself, but under the bed and visible. The front once should be not to far in front of the muffler. Sorry but that is the best way I can explain it.

EDIT: Here I found a picture online by googling

http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...0013_large.jpg

the two smaller ones are resonators and the larger one is the muffler

All the 07s I have come across only had one res behind the rear wheel and then the large muffler. I am pretty sure the 05s and 06s had two. Like it was mentioned: one res under the cab, the muffler and then the res behind the rear wheel. As far as the 08s+ I am not sure...

Yeah I just checked and the 08s don't have 2, just the 1 behind the rear wheel

Any benefit to taking out these resonators without an upgraded aftermarket muffler?

Pops, you will get a nice rumble from what people say, and a little more cab noise, and possibly some better performance. Those resonators are restrictive.

My 05 had 2. I didnt mess around when it came to doing an exhaust. I just did a stainless cat back and was done. No sense in sticking money in to a stock exhaust, IMO, when it will just rust out eventually and theres a good chance you may not be happy with the sound. With a cat back you can read reviews atleast of others with the same truck. Adding a new muffler is more like a proto-type exhaust.

My 08 has two as well. Just installed a Borla pro xs muffler leaving both resonators on, it's super quiet. Nice growl but just barely louder then stock. Going to remove the front resonator asap.

Hi, I have a 3.7L v6 and I have a hard time finding the right exhaust mod that makes a nice noise.

A guy I knew had a V8 and installed a cherry bomb on it and sounded really nice. For the V6 I'm not so sure.

What do you guys think about cherry bomb? or a cherry bomb with muffler ?
