good find, i know bad ground connections cause all kinds of hell on the rams, mostly trans and torque converter lock up operation, but sounds like a computer reset and good connections made your truck happy
When my battery went dead, I left it disconnected for a day until I was able to get another battery installed. Same experience - smooth idle, better shifting, pore power, etc. My observation in the past is a low battery will cause poor performance. The electronics expect the correct voltage.

I didn't lose my presets. Just had to reset Bass, Treble and so on.

hook a battery to the cig lighter....thats how you keep power for the chev delco lock head units when swapping batterys
