i wish there were more things avaliable for the 08+, any word if the cams work with the new heads? i have my doubts tho i cant get headers, TB or anything cool it seems, i would love to do forced induction, and i have the parts and ability to set up an in bay turbo, but this is my baby and i want it to be reliable and not really have to "tune" on it all the time, but on the other hand i do already have a race truck, nothing like having an 8000 lb lifted pickup that can slam you in the seat when stomping it at 70mph and 70psi of boost and maks all the ricers hang their heads in shame

Now a CTD would certainly be a sizeable mod. Like I said, 6.4L 392 would be my dream engine swap! Until then, I will enjoy being cammed, blown, tuned, sprayed and dropped.

havent seen one in a 3rd gen yet, but a 5.9 will fit in a 2nd gen with out modding anything other than moving the radiator forward just a little, but definitly need a trans/t-case, the 545 could probably hold it with the right mods, but i dont know of any adapters yet, and the stock computer can be used to run the gauges and engine, just by reusing the stock sensors, installed on the cummins, just have to get in the dash and pop that pesky check engine light, then all you need is starter, alt, and injection pump connections, regarudless it will still be a big job and probably not just a weekend project

My dream dakota would be a Quad cab with the frame lengthened to fit a extended cab bed on it. It would have a hemi swap with a nice cam and headers, nothing over the top there. It would be rocking some 1 ton axles with around 38" tires on it. Thats after I win the lottery. Until then I will be content with just watching others mod theirs up and be content with my occasional cheap mod. My truck is my main mode of transportation and hauling my 2 month old in, gotta be dependable and can't afford downtime!

Dusty05 did a 5.7L Hemi swap with a 6.1L and ran a 13.9 right out of the box. There is also the Inirtia Motorsports Spartan cam that is worth looking into.

Spartan cammed 5.7L Hemi Ram
