Default Aftermarket Driving/Fog Lights

Looked through the other posts, could not find any info on this subject.
My 08 Dakota does not have fog/driving lights, looking into installing a set in the near future.
Really do not want to put a toggle switch in the cab, thinking about running the wiring to the headlight fuse. Not sure if this would work when the headlights are turned on. Any ideas?
Thanks,

Guess you would have to find which wire is hot on the headlight when either the low of high beams are on (depending on if you want the fog lights on when the low beams are on or the high beams are on) and splice the power wire into that wire. Don't know if the stock wiring could handle the extra amperage of supplying both the headlight and the fog light, probably need to up the fuse size as well. Maybe better to just use the headkight power to turn on a relay and run separate power wires to the fog lights.

i think someone did that before. the wire and plugs are already there. you just need the driving lights and get the factory headlight switch with the driving light option and you'll be set. do a search and you'll find the thread. good luck...

keaton has some good thoughts. Watch your amps if you tap into the hot wire for your headlights.

If you want to install them the "correct" way (read factory way) then I believe you need to buy all the parts that dak_raven mentioned but then go to the dealer and get your truck flashed. I think I remember that when another member added his.

I did this to the Wife's 07 Durango. I installed the lights myself but it will not work without a PCM update. You can tap into the headlights but then you won't be able to run the fogs without the headlights.
