Since both the ebay kit and the nice DIY kit both ingest hot engine compartment I doubt there is a difference in the tube material heat transfer properties. The air that can heat the tube is the same kind getting sucked thru it.

Now with the filter run to isolated outside air, there might be a difference but I doubt its significant.

Thats my hang up with the after CAI's. They may breathe better than the stock air setup but aren't fresh air like the high end setups or even the OE one for that matter.

Is there a way to insulate this pipe from the heat?
something that cover it or wrap it or so?

You could try wrapping it up in a Stove Pipe insulation. It would give it the NASA look.

IDK if it was here or another forum, but someone built a custom outside air intake that started at the front bumper and snaked it up to the stock air box for a fresh air intake. It was quite the setup.

I'm on the fence post right now. I really want a bull bar, but that would mean I would have to pull off the bumper scoop. Decisions decisions.

Youd be first on the list Kent, no worries.

Im still not sure if a bull bar would look right on my truck. Lol. If you need help with the bumper scoop or anything, lmk. I could duplicate my bumper scoop in a couple of hours.

Yeah, his is broadfeet. I think aries is the one that sticks too far off the front for my tastes. I was looking in to a Westin. You can get up to 15% off and free shipping from Autoanything when they run the right sale but it still comes to over $300 for a chrome one.
