Default Another Homemade CAI

Well it took me long enough, but I finally put together all the pieces for my homemade CAI and OMG what a difference the sound makes. At about 2600 to 2800 RPM this thing sounds awesome. It’s louder than my tires and muffler combined.

I can tell a difference in the performance.

Here are a few pictures.

I Like it!!!!

I like how you used a grommet for the IAT sensor and made a bracket
to hold the CAI in place.

How did you connect the valve cover breather?

Thanks, nice truck by the way

I purchased a Heat Duct bracket at Home Depot and painted it flat black. For the valve cover breather, I purchased a grommet kit that had grommets and connectors at Kagen for about $8. I just drilled a hole (The connector was part of the kit) in the pipe and inserted the grommet and connector and conected the existing hose and secured it with a hose cramp.

I used the filter I had on my 2001 Dakato. Man this sounds nothing like it did on my 2001 Dakota with a 3.9 V6.

I'm just afraid my MPG's are going to drop because I am stepping in it all the time

Looks Good man!

And about fuel mileage, I don't know what mine got before, but I just got back from a trip from VA to FL and averaged 19 MPG with my intake and exhaust.

Looks good I prefer the black finish over the other finishes I have seen.

looks good, these 08's really make a hell of a noise when you get on it, i love it, anyone who rides in mine says "what the hell is that?" it sounds like a second exhaust system under the hood

and VA that thing looks great all blacked out in front!
