Bolt, there is a local shop that does drivetrain work super cheap. If they offer me a cheap $ to install it, I will have them do it. If not, it will be me.
Nice Nice

Which engine do you have again?

Btw anyone know how the warranty would work if I were to put a new differential in? Lets say I just had the dealership do it... I guess maybe I should question them.

I don't see why it would be a warranty problem as its an upgrade. It never hurts to ask, lol. I'm going to this because my rear dif rises about 8-10 inches every time I powerbrake to launch. I need an LSD that will evenly distribute torque as I come out of the hole.

If I had a 4x4 I would have to take all the 4x4 logos off of it. That way when I dropped it I wouldn't get beat down by the Nebraska locals, lol. I've got to tell you, last winter gave me a whole new respect for 4x4s and driving in snow.

Thats right Travis, I would not let the Wife's Borrego pull my truck if I had to much fun and ended up in a snow bank. Some import guy would take a pic and I would never hear the end of it.

I think both Auburn and Eaton have gotten wind that the Dodge LSDs are total crap. I paid $350 for my Auburn (at a retail shop no less) five years ago and the DTT was $450 there.

They've both jumped their prices by over $100 unless you find a "deal" on ebay...

The differential swap should not legally effect a warranty unless the dealer can prove that a covered part was damaged by the swapped-in parts. Obviously the differential won't be covered any longer by the warranty.
From what I remember from my 4-wheeling days in Arizona, the only problem with Auburrn differentials is that high-torque/big tire applications caused failures. That wouldn't be a problem with our trucks.
I hope I can find someone in my area to install one with 4.10 gears for a price I am willing to pay.
