Default HID Kit

I recently installed a 5k HID kit on my dak. The problem i'm having is that when I turn my truck on the lights start flickering.

My first thought was could it be because my truck has DRLs?
But I thought that the orange lights were DRL.

As soon as I turn the actual light *** then the flickering stops.

You need a relay kit.

Are you sure you installed it correctly? Flickering can occur when wires get switched. I've seen it on more than one vehicle. Sometimes directions are wrong.

Make sure everything is wired correctly and tha tthe ballast is good. I had a crappy HID kit with relay that did that. Then I got a better kit and it works fine now

Both sides do it.

I also sent an email to the service department where I got the HIDs.

So the HID place replied to my email:

The problem is your Daytime Running Lights. They run at a low voltage and
are causing the ballasts to turn on and off at a fast pace as the relay in
the harness continues to cycle on and off.

You will need to disable you DRL's. If that is not possible there are other
options that would require modifications to the relay harness with the use
of other modules.

Regards,
James

Instead of doing that if you leave you light switch turned to the on possition it should stop the problem. My 2006 eclipse had DRL and it would flicker when I did not have the switch in on posstion all the time so try that
