Default Spal fan controller & HHR fan installation tutorial

Ok guys, here's another one. I figured it would be nice for the folks that will use the newest Spal controller.

I chose to mount the controller by the intake box, so that it is easily viewed should you need to reprogram it.

Remove the factory airbox.

Locate the controller and use the 4 self tapping screws to secure the controller to the plastic lining.

Reinstall the factory airbox and insure good fitment. You should still be able to access the air filter when servicing.

This is the chassis ground I chose for both grounds (harness 1 and 2).

Next, remove the fasteners for the top cover next to the fan shroud (3.7L)

I ran both the constant and switched sources through here (red and orange)

The constant 12V wire is connected here.

An "add a circuit" is a very nice option for the switched 12V source (orange wire)

Here is where the blue and white wires will go. The blue runs to the AC power source. This will kick the fan/s on @ 100% when the AC has been selected. The white wire will go to source for the factory temp sensor (3.7L). You can remove the 3 connectors to better access the wires. I removed .500" of insulator, and soldered the connections, then wrapped in electrical tape.

I am still waiting on the fan to arrive. When it does, I will complete this tutorial with pictures and video. All of the exposed wires will have loom, for a clean install.

Guys, you are welcome.

I have about had it with waiting for my e-fan. The ebay seller is telling me that they have to file a lost claim. UPS tells me they never got the fan in the first place, and that it is still with the seller. sigh...
