I've had a bad experience with using that stuff. I had an old chrysler once that I used carb cleaner on (4-bbl) and when I went to start it after cleaning it, it backfired through the carb because there was so much cleaner pooled in the intake, it caused the timing chain to jump a tooth. I'm kinda skeert to use that stuff now....
I also read somwhere on here you have to use some kind of special solvent that does not harm o-rings and seals???

DONT USE CARB CLEANER ON YOU IAC!
Use a fast drying electronics cleaner. It is much milder than a Carb cleaner. Carb cleaner will actually melt plastics and rubbers, which the IAC is made of.
For the throttle body itself, you can use carb cleaner but just make sure you remove the throttle body from the truck and all sensors from the throttle body before cleaning anything.

no it was not running while I was cleaning it and it never did start, just turned over a few times and boom, big ball of flame shot out of the carburator...i still think it sucked a big slug of liquid carb cleaner into the cylinder and it was just a super volatile mixture, maybe i'm wrong, or it was just a coincidence, but it did actually jump time, had to fix it myself by replacing the timing chain and lining the gears back up again.

you want to leave it running while your cleaning it other wise you will have a build up in your intake the your situation. although i think that is pretty much the worst case for that.
As far as the cleaning the iac i did it yesterday. will post pictures once i feel better. It seems to be running better and has not stalled ...yet.... but i also seafoamed the engine half bottle in the brake booster and half in the tank. got a ton of carbon out of the engine.
