2005 Dakota HVAC Problem

I am unable to switch my Dakota's HVAC system from cold air to warm air. I believe the blend door is stuck or has quit working. What kind of diagnostic tool (scanner) do I need to track down and fix my problem?

This happened in my friends 2004 Durango. Switches went bad in the control until so we pulled one at a U-Pull it and it works fine now.
