Default New off road lights - one won't work!

Hey all,

I just attached a new set of Navigator 55 watt utility lights to my '05 Dakota. One light works fine and the other doesn't. I wired them using Hammer's schematic with a relay in the middle and the switch wired to the fusebox. I took apart and re-wired everything from the splice connector leading to the problem light and it still had no effect.

This is my first electrical project and I'm not sure if it's the one light or if I'm now not quite sure what to look for to find the issue. Any ideas on how to verify the problem?

first things first, like rengnath says, check to see if you have power going to the one that don't work and it has a good ground. Where did you mount them? also check the bulb on the one thats not lighting, swap it with the one that does work. I've had bad bulbs before right our of the box.

I always make it a point to test new lights right out of the box on the battery or my "jump box" before ever going to install them.

Test light or meter your connections, and test the light with just the pigtail by holding it to a battery. Wouldn't be the first bad solder joint or bulb out of the box.

Did you crimp connect or solder and heat shrink your connections? I tend to not use the crimp on's, easier but they often don't work worth a crap...
