i bet your ps pump is BBQ'ed, sometimes they recover but rarely, doing donuts kills pumps only for one reason, holding the wheel all the way to the lock, if you hit the lock just back the wheel off of it a bit and you can do donuts all day long with no pump damage, same goes for daily driving, i never hold mine on the lock at all and havent replaced a pump in about 7 years on any of my trucks, when i used to go through a couple a year

Not to be rude....but what is the point of doing "donuts"? Sure, its one of the fastest way to destroy your pump, rack, tranny and engine. Maintaining a high rpm to keep the rear loose to do tight donuts...putting an extreme ammount of force the the steering components to hold the turn while you floor the gas, these things kill vehicles.

There are youtube videos "how to kill a xxxx in 10 seconds" and the videos are of high rpm donuts.

What's the fun in doing them anyway? It doesn't proove your vehicle is powerful....or anything.

And it also helps to never turn your wheel when at a dead stop. Theres a lot of stress on the front end that can be lifted by just letting your truck roll slowly while turning the steering wheel.

Good luck with your ps pump hendrixx. Ive done dumb things too that Ill never do again in my truck .... one being a brake stand on dry pavement.

This is why its a selling point of a used car to say it has "all highway miles". It's not just the engine and tranny that gets an easier life, but the front end gets a much easier life, by simply driving straight all day.

Low speed turns from city crawling is a killer.
