Default hypertech tuner?

well guys im starting to look around and wanted to see if anyone has used the hyper-tech on out trucks yet? and what people think about it compared to the sc tuner?

They must have finally released it for the 05 Dakotas. I know a few months back they released one for the 07's which was adding a huge amount of HP (47hp I believe) .... Being it doesnt add any more HP to an 05 than Superchips, I would stick with the SC just because of the transmission tuning.

I thought I read somewhere that you needed to get a custom tune done since your heads were milled? I would call both companies first before you make any purchases just because these programmers look for stock files; if your tune changed any of these files, the programmers wont work. The company may be able to do a modified tune for you though once they see what your truck is running now.

What one would you recommend for an 06 6-speed manual with the stock 4.7?

You have an 06 4.7 with a stick? How did ya do that? I thought the v8s were only available as an automatic... {ENVIOUS}

stay away from both, go sct. it may be alittle more, but in the long run, worth it

It is really hard to find a 3rd gen Dakota that is manual because only the 05 and 06 have them, they did not make that many, and the people that do have a Dakota with a manual don't want to get rid of them.

yeah when i worked at manassas dodge a while back i only saw 1 the whole 3 years i worked there so that says something! I wouldn't get ride of mine if it was manual!

There is no way i am ever going to get rid of mine ether. It is an SLT quad cab, 4WD, has the 3.55 rear end, power everything and has only 45k miles on it
