good question, i've searched all over and all I can find are add-a-leafs, or air bags. There was a thread earlier this year on the subject.

I used the 1" blocks from Jegs. Worked fine. Depending on your axle size, you can get by with off the shelf u-bolts or you will have to have them custom made. The 8-1/4" rear will work with the kits you can get from Jegs or Autozone. The 9-1/4" rear will need custom bolts to match the height of block you get. I got my u-bolts from Stengal Bros in PA....

Here is some pictures of the pieces and my truck. I used 9/16" x 3-1/2" x 8-3/8" round bend u-bolts. The originals are 7-3/8" tall, so add on how tall your block is.

My local Autozone carries the blocks and kits from 1" to 3" for about the same price as Jegs. If you got one close by, you'd save shipping (although have to pay tax), but most importantly, be able to walk in and walk out with them...

Hammer is right IF you have the 8-1/4" rearend. But if you have the 9-1/4" rear the u-bolts from those kits don't work. Why buy the extra bolts? It WILL cost you more if you have the 9-1/4" rear, but that is because of the need for custom u-bolts and blocks purchased individually.

Well if you don't buy the KIT, I know Autozone sells U bolts in all sizes individually as well. Might just have to piece together your own kit...

I hate to go back and forth, but I don't think you will find 9/16" u-bolts that short. I know I could not find them in Omaha at Napa, Autozone or Oreilly's. I think it was about 40 bucks to get them shipped from Stengal Bros.

Yup, I had used an advanced auto kit when I had 2" blocks, because I wanted the painted steel blocks. Autozone has blocks too, in billet aluminum. The U-bolts that come with the kit aren't the greatest though.

Much better off doing what jonhankel did, and getting them made by stengal bros. Those u-bolts are much higher quality and come with deep nuts.

You can run a 2" max. So pick 1" or 2". Anything more then 2" will be too far for your axle breather line, and your main brake line. No need to get new shocks either.
