I will help you out here. Are you looking to use these because you just ordered that leveling kit?

Most lift block kits are universal, there mostly pretty much the same for all trucks. It's the u-bolts that can vary.

You want 1.5" or 2" lift blocks, that are 2.25" wide, with NO Taper for drive angle correction. These are the most common lift blocks around. Do you have an Advanced Auto Parts store around you?? They sell a steel block kit that I used on my dakota, it works great. They also come with the U-bolts you need which are about 10.5" long, you need ROUNDED end u-bolts, with a 3" inner diameter.

Those U-bolts will work if you have the 8.25 axle, if you have the 9.25 those u-bolts will not work. Easiest way to tell is to drive to the store, take the block kit outside, crawl under the back of your truck and see if the ubolt will slide over your axle correctly.

I am not sure how to tell which axle you have, but i THINK that all dakotas have the 8.25 axle, and if you have an AWD dakota then it has the 9.25. Someone on the forum might know exactly. But like I said, just drive over to one of your autopart stores and take the minute to find out if they fit. Get steel or cast iron blocks. Most auto part stores carry 1" 2" and 3" kits right on the shelves.

Those blocks you have on the ebay link don't tell you any information about the blocks. There only $25 for the whole kit at advanced, and its the same materials.

Nice, 265/70 on the 17" rim That will be big. Its about the same size as my 265/75 on the 16" rim. Its about the largest you can fit, should look good.

the axle is a toss up the only way to know is to check the glove box (as far as i know, at least the 2nd gens came with either axle), or you can count the bolts, but im not sure how many bolts are on the diff cover of each axle :|

and i THINK if you have the tow package on the truck it comes with the 9.25 rear (but dont quote me on it)

Your truck could have the 9.25 or 8.25, it's easy to tell just walk behind the truck bend down and look at the pumpkin. The 8.25 is oval and has 10 bolts, the 9.25 is octagonal and has 12 bolts.

8.25:

9.25:

Wow thats really good info altair, thats even easier.

Dinger the rear is easy to do, I dunno 30 minutes if you are comfortable working on vehicle. There are tons of "how to" write ups for installing lift blocks online.
