Default Tonneau Cover

Just wanted to know if a tonneau cover from a 2nd gen dakota will fit a 3er gen dakota? Both trucks are quad cabs. Thanks

Nope, it won't fit! Maybe a soft tonneau will but I was looking at a hard tonneau. The problem is the 2nd gen has a square bed and the 3rd gen tapers from 64" to 62" at the back of the bed. It might fit but it would look dumb.

For the same reason that the Chevy Colorado's bed is about 3/4 of an inch wider then the Chevy S10. To make more money on after market parts.

yea, wider/longer all around i can understand, but making an un-square bed? Wide in the front and narrow in the back?
