Gas Mileage after Gear Switch

You are going to want to jump to 4.10s. The jump from 3.55s to 3.92s isnt going to be worth the money IMO. Going from 3.55s to 3.92s you are only turning the drive shaft 1/3 more where as the 4.10s you get 1/2 turn and the cost is relatively the same.

The gears, bearing kit and LSD cost $607, install was $295. Since I wanted the installation shop to give me a warranty, I got the gears and LSD from their recomended supplier (Dallas Differential). My city mileage average is 16.68 now, includes some hard acceleration since this was the first tank of gas and I wanted to play a little.
What did you do about the speedometer and odometer readings? Can dodge straighten that out?

I still dont think anyone has successfully got 4.10s installed in a 4x4. There was a member who was supposed to be getting them installed, but I never saw any feedback at all.
The problem is finding the gears for the front end. You should be able to get 4.56s .... and that will probably make your truck a beast. I doubt it would give you +2 on the mileage side .... it may give you -2 off your mileage on the highway.

Monkey, on my superchips Im allowed to change the tire height and the gear ratio, so I would assume a gear swap would change your speed. The speed sensor is on the drive shaft if I remember correctly, so anything after that needs to be accounted for if changed. Nothing the dealer shouldnt be able to fix for you. All they have to do is change the gear ratio in the program and flash the truck with the new adjustment.
