Default P0700 Transmission Code

A lot of you might remember I had a bad run in with PepBoys (awesome for parts, suck as mechanics) where they messed up my tranny filter. Long story short, they cut a 4x4 with a hack saw to make it fit. That resulted in a P0700 code along with a few other codes and a transmission that would bog down and not shift.

Monday, my truck did exactly that again. Threw the P0700 code, bogged down and did not want to shift. That night I dropped the tranny pan and let it drain over night. No metal in the pan, valve body looked great and every thing pristine. Tuesday I bought the replacement filters and 6qts of fully synthetic ATF4 fluid. Today I changed both filters, tightened the lines. I bolted the pan back up, filled up with 5.5 qts and baam! My beast is back, wahoo!

Me too, I was supposed to go today. I will make a couple of tuning runs tomorrow and if I'm still solid I will schedule for next week.

These trans are pretty picky. Mine started downshifting (HARD) from being 2 quarts low on fluid after I got the fluid changed, and 2 quarts really isnt that low when you look at the dip stick. Im really debating whether or not I should order a Sonnax or not. The Ram guys make it very temping, and Dirtyoldjohn uses one with a SC with no harm. The Sonnax is just another resistor mod if youre willing to start cutting in to the wires.

Are you still installing one on your trans, Blown?

If the sonnax is the same as the tranny line booster from airram i emailed nick (airram) and he said the he has seen alot of customers using both with good results.

Ruger - thats the same thing Im talking about

Im thinking it would be pretty wicked with the Torque Managment reduced to under 5%. At that point, you would normally get slipping and loss of performance, but with boosted line pressure, your torque converter will grab nice.

I'm thinking it's just that time of the month for these '05's.

Glad you got her up and running again man, I'm still surprised how well your trans is holding up to the increase in power.

Tell me about it, I think mine might be coming due for another ball joint by the sound/feel of it.

The transmission has held up great. I'm worried about metal shavings every time I drop the pan but the only ones so are are the ones from where pepboys used the hack saw to trim the 4x4 filter, lol When this one goes I will probably spring for a Sharadon performance tranny.
