Default Truck overheating..

I really didn't want to label this another efan thread butttt...
My fan's not working, and I don't know why. I have the derale controller, wired like this currently:
Yellow ignition: spare fuse tie in
Green override: AC clutch relay
Fan negative to ground, positive to controller.

I know the fan works, it worked when I had the ignition tapped into a fuse that was always on.

it overheats regardless of the AC. The fan isn't turning on at all.
Here's where my probe is, close to the water inlet like the instructions said..

I guess it is the controller, it'll make a noise but not do anything.

i would say hook it up to a 12v accessory so it will turn on when you turn on the car, at least until you can get a replacement controller.

oh.. pick me.. pick me.. I know the answer....
Did you READ THE INSTRUCTIONS???
The fan gets connected to the POSITIVE and the controller gets the negative feed.

I think you have it wired backwards.....

if you've got the wiring right coming off the controller, and the fan is also hooked to a negative, your just feeding the fan 2 ground connections...

you might also check to see if you blew the fuse just in case you spiked it.
If its clicking the relay is probably working properly, it just doesn't have any juice goin to it..

...That'll be $39.50... please pay the cashier at the next window...

oh my bad. No I have wired per the instructions. Red to battery, negative to controller. If I had done what you said, I don't think it would turn on at all. The fan will come on when it has a constant ignition source. No other time though.
