i have a 2005 Dakota 4x4... 4.7L quad cab, the color is red and i loving it.
I'll post pictures soon.
but i have a Lil problem: we had a some heavy rain last week and i went through a puddle of water, then some idiot driving in the opposite direction splashed me. when i came out of the water and pullued to the parking lot, my exhaust was smoking white. a few mins later the check engine light came on. did a scan and got the codes po174 & po175; i leaning to ward the oxygen sensor, has any one ever encounter this problem, any help will be appreciated.
p.s i have no mod on the truck yet!

First off welcome to the forum. More than likely the connection to the O2 sensor got wet or the quick cooling of the O2 messed it up. You can download the service manual from this site which will give you a step by step proceedure on how the check it. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=X8T6731C

i believe it may have, cause when i pulled out the intake tube i saw streak like water streaks. but the truck idles fine and drives normal still.
i will be checking the oxygen sensor connection. i dont own a scanner yet, ordered one last night.i live in the Caribbean (St. Maarten) And the guys here charge a lot for their services & i won't receive mine until some time next week.

Well good luck! If water did make it up in to the intake, it sounds like you left the engine running for a while. If you didnt shut off the engine before the water was all gone, all that happened was a little steam cleaning for your pistons. Just be happy it didnt hydrolock. Im guessing the water in the engine threw off the PCM so it tried to compensate by leaning and richening the engine, which threw off the o2 sensors. If you want to try just seeing if the issue still exists, just disconnect the battery for an hour and that will clear the pcm. Any codes that pop up then are an existing issue.
If the only problem was some water in the engine, no more codes will come up and you no longer have an issue.

i did that already but he codes still re-appeared, so i've got to wait until i get my 0dbii scanner so i can follow through with the direction from the manual. the guys who has a scanner here rate starts at $100 the lowest, and that just to tell you what the codes are..
i order this scan tool:http://www.palmerperformance.com/pro...lstd/index.php
i think i will be better off with my own scan tool and save me some money
