Ah, you wont blow it up. Mine sees 3rd gear at WOT daily .... there's no speed limit on a freeway on-ramp!
When you tune your truck, go under advanced tuning instead of quick tuning. Under advanced tuning, youll see rev limiter, speed limiter, gear ratio, tire size, 1-2 WOT shift, and 2-3 WOT shift. Im guessing you may not be riding 2nd gear to the shift point and thats why you have to let off. If you are hitting a rev limiter in 2nd gear (you would know if you were hitting it, the truck wouldnt be pulling any more) then you have another problem. But I have my rev limiter set to about 5800, I shift out of 1st at 5300, and I ride 2nd to 5750. By the end of 2nd, Im at 90mph.
