Sorry to hear Ruger, that sucks man. As far as solid lash adjusters, that requires getting into the heads anyway so might as well do cams. If you can do them yourself, that is probably the biggest bang for the buck you can find.

hooah...i'm going to probably be going all N/A....streetable N/A 4.7L V8 Dakota and see what kinda power i can pull down with the motor alone! so we shall see what kinda numbers i can pull after the motor work is done!

Nick @ Airram did 13.99 in the 1/4 mile with his N/A 4.7l Ram Quad Cab ..... thats impressive.

yeah well what the dakotas are lighter right? so i figure i'm gonna try to break into the high 12's...wonder if i can do that with a 3:55 rear?

Airram is stating 5200lbs for his quad cab Ram
A google search is showing a quad cab Dakota 4x4 @ 4800lbs

If I was looking for nothing but speed; 4.56s would be a must. For some comfort but still fast, 4.10s would be the next option but I dont think anyone has found them for the front diff yet.

Same here i love my 4x4 but i hate it every time i think about gears.

I think I could make an 08+ Dakota hit mid 13s on just motor. It would need a
Custom Tuning
Custom Cam Grind
High flow Cats/Muffler
FIPK/CAI
E-fan/fan controller
4.10 or 4.56 gears
N/A Alcohol Injection

All motor would be cool but after the cams an a few other thing im gonna be on a hunt for boost.

true...i mean when i get home i'll have the following on my truck

CAI 10hp
TB 69 true bore 10hp
Autolite 3923 sp
Power Wire 10hp
SC 3865 Tuner 18hp
True Dual Exhaust w/ Flowmaster 40 series 7hp
Sonnax Trans Power Wire

Next Plans are as Follows

Headers 5hp
Hi-flo cats 5hp
H/O Cams 20hp
Solid Lashers
E-Fan w/ spal Controller 10hp

so all those total a near 100whp...so safely i can say another 50whp! not bad will deffinately have to get dynoed after i get all that done and post it so i can show what it does on a 4X4 Quad Cab V8! so we shall see the actual gains!
