Hahah what if we just cut out the front end and weld on the front end of a 2ng gen ram.

The spacer above the spring is actually just a block, that spaces the upper strut mount away (down) from the frame/upper strut attachment point.

You haven't addressed the lower control arms, that would be on a fairly large angle, and would cause drastic camber changes through suspension travel, unless the upper arm was also on a similar angle. Then the problem would be that the wheel/steering knuckle, etc would want to move away (out) from the truck under compression, causing bump steer, and the CV shafts to extend, probably beyond their maximum extension.

What you would actually want to do is lower the inner attachment points of the lower control arms, to get the lower control arms as back to level as you can at ride hight. You would probably need to develop some steering knuckle extensions to keep the upper control arm parallel to the lower arm at ride hight as well, since I don't see an easy way to move the upper control arm attachment points down.

You also can't simple flip the tierod ends to the top. The tierod has a taper to it, that its into the knuckle. The only way to do this is to dril out the knuckles and use a rod end in place of the tierod end, with straight bolts and bump steer spacers.

The only way I would ever lift an independent front end is to use very long control arms and convert from the rack and pinion steering to a quasi steering box set-up that would also use long tie rods, to keep bump steer to a minimum. A lot like stadium or Baja trucks.

Or just do a Z cut then, lowering the entire front of the frame 4", or 8", or 11", or....

sounds to me like a solid axle is still the easiest way to get a lift outta these trucks

Yeah, that is probably the easiest way.

It wouldn't make any sense on my truck though, being a 2WD, having a solid axle with no drive shaft attached just screams ghettofabulous to me. LOL

Maybe one day I'll decide to lift my Dak, for now, I have other projects that need my attention first.

Keeping the geometry correct, while gaining ground clearance?

What's with all the lifted 2WD hate?

There are a lot of misconceptions in that thread as well.
