Default Forward-facing Lighting Set-up

Any guys running anything "unique" for their forward facing lights on their trucks? I'm interested in something unique but nothing tacky. I want it to be professional and as close to a stock look as possible.

I was thinking about keeping the factory housings, upgrading the headlights and fogs to HIDs, and then doing "switchback" LEDs for the directionals.

It would be:

5,000k Bi-xenon HID from hidextra.com @ $69.99
5,000k HIDs from hidextra.com @ $59.99
Type 2 Switchback LEDs (5,000k and Amber) from v-leds.com @ $57.99

More info on the switchbacks:

Any opinions guys? I was thinking about doing a set of KCs behind the grille, but I think my money would be better spent like this since I can only have 2 sets of beams aimed forward while moving.

They don't smog test but will bust you for extra lights? Where's the logic in that??? lol...Those switchbacks are the bomb, going to get them soon, but thats a lot of dough for a couple of LED's lol...don;t firget the load resistors.

I was reading and alot of vehicals dont need the load resistors unless you get a fast blinking. Would it be wise to put resistors on regardless? I dont want them to blink too slow either. Im still reading reviews, but the closest thing I can find to a Dakota is a Jeep that has these installed.

Is that not a law anywhere else? The cops would be all over my truck if I had 3 pairs of lights aimed down the road. Good news is they cant do a smog test on my truck. The worst Ive heard them doing is getting under the ricers that street race and they tap on the cats to see if they are gutted or not.

I think Eric still has them on his. He did a whole write up on the install along with some pics or videos at night. The blinker will think you have a burnt out bulb due to the low resistance and will go into hyper flash mode, so I guess you could install them and if they dont start blinking fast then you don't need the resistors.

Haha 06dak287, I could have some fun with those! But the legal issues that follow impersonating a police officer wouldnt be cool. Lol

in NV impersonating is any act where someone pretends to be a cop to perform cop duties and or illegal activity.....these lights are LED so they are clear when off, not red and blue. and I dont use them on public roads only private property...therefore DPS laws on lights dont apply

I would be tempted to use them every time traffic is going slow in the left lane; get them slow people to move over. Hah!

When ordering the HIDs, would it be wise to order 1 or 2 relay harnesses? Im thinking the Bi xenon will definetly need the relay, but will the fogs?
