Red face Tire/Rim questions (drag racing)

OK, I am into drag racing and toying with the idea of smaller rims and tires on the rear (racing only) to give me a quicker launch. Without going out and buying them new, I would like to know what rims are interchangable with our trucks. Example: our trucks have 16" rims and 31" tires. My old ranger had 15" rims and 27-28" tires, are these interchangable? I would like to know so I could go to a scrapyard and buy used rims/tires without having to cough up the money for drag radials and rims. Plus the things I have changed I am starting to loose traction on launch, dont wanna spin my street tires to get them hot!

Thanks in advance.

Drag radials and slicks keep your rear planted under launch. Without slicks I will wheel spin anywhere up to 35-50mph and that no good for racing. Drag slicks are super sticky and keep the rear planted while putting them under duress.

Talking Blown, question about tire size change

Blown, when you changed from the stock tire to your 26", did you do a before and after? I would be curious as to how many 10ths I could possibly pick up doing this tire change from 31" to 26"? (Ran 17.5 this weekend, looking for 16.9!)

shave 600 pounds of weight off your dakota somehow! every hundred pounds is a tenth!
