mine didn't come with one and being that I'm moving to Alaska in May i went ahead and got one. The skid plate I got from the dealer for $50 it would have been more online. My next one is the gas tank skid plate $120 but so worth the peace of mind.

I would like to know and or see a picture of this block heater.. I have never seen one on my truck. It should be in one of the core plugs, but I have never really looked that close to see if it has one.

here are pics of it installed with cord. it is in the very back freeze plug on the passenger side. you can look through your wheel well to see if you have one. the skid plate is the same for all 2005-2010 Dakotas the block heater is the same for all 2005-2009

I think the block heater is only standard equipment on Canadian vehicles. This goes for most cars/trucks.
