It's a "PUERTO RICAN" thing ! You guys will never understand! Tell them Victor...... Back in the 80's i used to drag race and i had a 84' Mazda RX7 with a 12a engine, street ported, Webber 45 degree carbs on Racing Beat aluminum intake, 3 inch Racing Beat headers and a straight pipe ending in a Super Turbo muffler, 411 posi-traction differential with upgraded rear wheel disk brakes and suspension. It ran like a bat out hell and so loud that you can hear me coming from 3 or 4 blocks away. Awesome times, but anyway i could rev that engine pass the 8k rpm mark and that's where the engine performer it's best. But now the vehicles have too much computer crap that the manufacturers got to protect the engine and their components and that is why they have rev limiters and a whole bunch of other stuff. Damn, i miss my dumb RX7..... Sorry about tge long post, i got lost on the memories ot good times past....lol

I can understand the engine performing best at to 8k rpm while actually moving (under load) but did you also just sit there and rev the engine while not moving to 8k?

I have an 08 3.7 and I it noticed when I got my exhaust installed. I had it in park and revved it, and it takes longer than other cars/trucks for the RPM's to come back down. My friends 06 Ram 5.7 does the same thing but my other friends 03 Ram 4.7 doesnt, it drops quicker
