Default Max RPM in Park Position?

Hi:

I have a 2010 dakota, does anyone knows why our trucks when are in Park they doesn't accelerate more than 4k rpms?

Also when the pedal is loose the deceleration takes too long to be in his normal operation, why, I have other cars and truck and they accelerate pretty fast from stock?

thanks

Victor

There is a rev limiter. Mine does the same thing. I'm not sure I understand your second question.

I think you are saying that when you push down on the pedal in park, rev the engine up, there is a little delay in the RPMs dropping?
Don't forget, 2010's are drive by wire, there is not a cable. I think the delay is normal.
I am sure someone else with a 2010 will chime in.

This is true. I'm not sure why you would want to rev past 4k in park anyway

This is something I haven't tested in my Dak.

My Malibu was set to around 3600 or so IIRC.

Anything above 4k with no load = good chances of spinning a rod bearing.

Ok, now I understand, but for what this rev limiter is for?
Other cars can be accelerated more than 7k rpm in park?
