Default 545RFE Tranny Service- Capacity

I'm looking to simply drop the pan and do a filter change in my 05 4.7 with the 5 speed auto. Bought both filters but am trying to get a rough idea how much ATF+4 I will lose and need to replace.

Anybody know?

This is what the service manual says "Service Fill - 545RFE 2WD - 5.2 L (11 pts.) 4WD - 6.2 L (13 pts.) O-haul Fill - 545RFE 13.33L (28.0 pts.)" You can download the service manual for free here https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...ce-manual.html

Just the pan 5 quarts will be more than enough and make sure you get the gasket for the screen filter seated all of the way. If you get it back together and have any problems it will be with the gaskets seating.

5 to 5.5 Qts will be be needed to refill after dropping the pan and doing a filter change.

Is there a plug to drain the torque converter? Need to do mine soon, and want to do the complete job.

Had the transmission service done two weeks ago, with the pan dropped and fluid/filter change. Seemed to work fine, but now I'm getting a surge and near stall at idle when cold and in drive. Only happens once, then fine. It seems to shift a bit weird too. Any thoughts? I had it done at a dealer. Service lady said they would hook it up to the computer as a routine, but I highly doubt they did it.

hmmmm...well thats why BLOWN has told me whenever you change the filter go ahead and flush out the transmission incase any metal particles may have gotten down as well to get the old stuff from the Converter...as it could also hold metal particles and basically you just did yourself a huge NADA if you wasted all that time and didn't get new fluid in there!
