Window tint/remote start?

Window tint/remote start?
What would be a good price for either/both of these services? I saw a link tonight in my area that I want to ask about.
http://www.cincycaraudio.com/index.htm
$369.00.
Has anybody installed an aftermarket remote start and done the window tinting themselves? (I know from reading on in the forum the tint sounds like a headache.) Is it cost effective, or would I be better off saving myself the headache and letting someone else do it?

uhm i've done the tint...as you can see on my truck i did that myself! and yes it is a pain in the *** but i couldn't afford it and my brother gave me 20% tint and god it took me hours cause it was my first time! and it came out nearly flawlessly..well the only part i messed up where the back windows but only slightly along the edges of the sliding part! but otherwise yeahp....soapy water and a blow dry will be your best friend on that project! just if you do it yourself find the tint you want and make sure you buy the kit so you get a wedge that basically you use to get the airbubbles out and apply it right!

It won't be $369 out the door for you.
There will be a bypass module that will be extra, they may also charge for replays and "extra" features such as light flash, some places call some things "extra" when to some places they are "standard" features.
I know when the place I used to work at doing this (Well, I kinda still work there), we would charge about $450 for the remote start alone in a truck like a 2002+ Dodge Dakota, due to the need for a bypass/interface module.
I was planning on installing my RS this weekend, but never found the time, next weekend for sure, if not before.

This time of year a lot of places have great deals on remote starters. Six Shooter knows what he is talking about though, when I had mine done they charged me like $70 for the bypass module. The rs itself was on special for $150 installed, so otd it was just under $240, but it was totally worth it, works from over half a mile away and even from inside buildings through concrete parking garages it has good range (line of sight can also affect) and the batteries are cheap and easy to replace.

the remote install is not too bad, can be done yourself fairly easily if you can read semi-complex wiring diagrams.
The window tint on the other hand, just take it somewhere, lots of the places that I am near will offer a bubble guarantee for a year or two. Trust me I have done the tinting before, it is a PITA, I can tell you that it will be a major pain to do it well behind the rear headrests, especially, if you have the sliding rear glass.
Just make sure that you are in the legal limits, both in the area that you live, and any places that you normally drive. Also remember to factor in the tint also included stock in the window as it is. Many places are willing to tint below legal specs, be sure to ask what max legal tint is. Here in Missouri it is no tint on the windshield below the AS1 line.
34% on the side doors, and any amount behind that, BUT if you tint the rear doors and rear glass, below 34%, you have to have functional side mirrors.
My ranger had 5% on the rear glass, and 1.5% on the extra cab windows. It was excellent, I loved it, I want to get my dak tinted before too much longer, but it is not so bad in the winter since the truck doesn't get hot.
