Default First snow with the Dak...

Ok, so how well does the 4x4 Dak work in the snow? I had a 4x4 ranger before? Should I get one of these to put in the bed for extra weight?

(no offense to owners, but I could not imagine driving this on the interstate!)

LMAO!!!

I am watching the Pitt vs. Cincinnati game right now and noticed how hard it's snowing.

When I was a yonker and grew up in upstate NY, I'd alwayd put about 100 lbs. of sand inside each tire hump, right over the axle in my full size 4x4s. Kept good traction with the back tires, plus you could always use the sand around the tires for traction if you got stuck...

Just took my truck for a test drive in the snow this morning. Either I need new tires or this thing sucks..

Took mine to the snow last week, handled like a charm! I'm pretty sure all those things would be good for would be a weight in the bed of your truck!

I only have 2WD but do put sandbags in the back. Has been fine for the last couple of years. Have almost 60,000 miles on the tires though so we shall see this year. They still have a little over 5/32 tread left. Pretty sure they will not pass the next safety inspection. Good thing is they have worn pretty evenly. New tires will be on the truck before next winter though.

Had a 4x4 Ranger before the Dakota. That thing would go nowhere in 2WD even with sand in the back. It was an extended cab so was pretty light in the back. I liked that truck but put too much money in the front hubs. That is why I went for a 2WD this time around. Besides, my days of going through the mud have long past. Fun but too costly.
