Trying to decide what I should buy first Rims or tires? Any thoughts? My tires are fine, but wanting a new look for my truck, I think i am going with Kuhmo 245/75/16 or 265/75/16 KL71 and a set of Dick Cepek rims. I am leaning towards the tires since it is winter and i would not want the rims to get ruined by the amount of salt they use up here. Whats your thoughts? Anyone have the Kuhmo tires like or dislike?

I would stick with tires for now because of the salt. In WV they use alot of salt on the roads and I've seen the damage it will do to a nice set of rims. I've never had Kuhmo's

 

go 265, if you get aftermarket wheels later they may be wider and the 245s would look bad plus bigger is ALWAYS better!

 

if your tires are fine get one more winter out of them before changing them! go with dick cepek rims I DID and love every minute of them! and dont worry about the salt wit hthese rims they'll be fine! just every now and then spray them down with water! no worries be just fine! i'd go with rims myself cause rims are what can make the truck!

 

I had the same problem tires or rims, but my tires were pretty much slicks so the decision was easy. BFG All Terrains and love every minute of em so far.

 

yeah and the dick cepeks are a little wider so it'll help give you more tire on the ground anyway! so go with rims...my opinion!

 

I had the KL71's on a jeep and they were great tires. But being a mud tire they arent the best for snow and ice. If your going to do mostly street driving I would suggest an all terrian.

 

go rims i might sell my current rims and get new ones now just cuz i can go bigger tires so why not change everything go for a diff look and wteboy is right it can make the truck lok way better
