As a general rule they are, but no body is above making a mistake once in a while.

Hopefully that fixes it Kent.

I had one of your TBs Bwdakrt and it was giving me the same idle issue. I sold it, and the guy said it worked fine on his Ram. I bought a fastman and it had the same issue, so I sent it to jkeaton to see if it would work. I replaced ever sensor I could as well, and nothing fixed the issue for me.

the idle screw is not even making contact with it so butterfly is bottomed out, I can only open it more, not close it anymore. I'm going to clean my old one and put it back on. If the problem goes away, then we know it is the tb....

Totally agree, but which is why I dont understand why fastman wont work with us on this. We're just trying to find out the cause.

Kent, try "opening" it a little more to see if it lines up the throttle blade better. If the throttle blade is going past 0 degrees, then its opening in the negative throttle position where air can get past.

Ill call Dan tomorrow and explain to him, and hopefully he wont just tell me that the truck is still relearning idle.

If that's the case, you'll never get it to idle down because the bore is too big for the blade. That space you see around the blade is allowing in more air than the IAC can compensate for and it will never idle down no matter what you do. This is the only time I've heard of Dan letting a TB go out the door like that but like I said before, we all make mistakes. Give Dan a call and tell him what's going on and I feel like he'll take care of the problem.

I hadn't thought about that. Good suggestion.

Is there any way you can post up some pics of the gap between the edge of the blade and the wall of the bore?

Kinda hard to tell from the pics, but it is not even, some places show more than others. I don't know whats normal, first I've looked at one this close.

That Sir is a Fastman screw up. Way too much gap. The blade is not centered inside the bore...hitting on one side and a big gap on the other side. You could try centering the blade but there's also a lot of gap on both sides at the throttle shaft so it would kind of useless to try. The IAC will never be able to compensate for that much extra air flow at idle. You'll never the idle down using the TB.

You should be able to send those pics to Dan and if he's any kind of vendor at all, he'll send you a replacement TB at no cost.

I ordered back on 7/23 so we will see what he says. I have records for every part I replaced though so if he needs proof that I have honestly tried to solve the issue, I have it.
