The jeep probably had a nice gear ratio to match the output of the engine. I think with the Dakota, 3.55s just bog the engine down all the time. I would really like to test drive one with 3.92s to see the difference.
My 4.10s made a considerable change in power down low. I think the 3.92 to 4.10s are perfect for our trucks. Only reason I'm going back to 3.55s is because of this 224 turbo grind cam setup I decided to go with.
As for the I6 4.0, bore and stroke it to a 4.7L and boost it, lol, stupid power.
