okay after some research...apparently there is no HP or TQ difference between 87 and 91 tune only difference is the transmission shift...wondering on any validaty behind this...so if that is true that means i can still run 87 not PREMIUM 91 and have the same power?

I remember reading somewhere that with the 87 tune you get 15 extra HP and with the 91 tune you get 18 HP I think. Don't quote me on that but I'll try to find it.

I'd agree with the Econo tune not showing any improvements in fuel mileage when compared to the others. I currently run the Tow tune and I get the best all around IMO.

Yeah you should have 4 tunes, Economy, 87 Performance, Towing, and 91 Performance. The Tow is similar to the 91 Performance and it also requires 91 Octane

Don't know about that. I used the "tow tune" and the truck ran like a top { 87 octane} It pulled a 20ft trailer, loaded with no problem, up hill passing cars. The 91 tune you have to run 91 octane or the motor starts to miss and lope.
I didn't see any where that said you have to run 91 octane for the tow tune, but the 91 tune says you should.
