Default LED blinker

So I installed my led blinkers today they work great as long as I keep my HIDs off, as soon as my HIDs are turned the 'hyper flash' starts.

When I first installed the blinkers there was hyper flash (I just wanted to see if resistors where needed, they were) so I installed the resistors and the flashing went away, and they looked great.

Then when I went for a drive tonight I turned on my hids and the flash started again about two seconds after the HIDs turned on, when I turn the HIDs off again the hyper flash stops.

What can I do to fix it?

I do have the ballasts and the proper wiring kit for the HIDs, and as mentioned earlier I do have the resistors installed.

Are you running the HIDs on a relay?

I would expect hyper flash with the HIDs off, and regular flashing with the HIDs on due to the current being drawn by the HIDs. Do you have a volt meter? I would test the wires going to the blinkers with the bulb installed to see if there is a difference with the HIDs on or off.

I am using relays on my hids.

I'm hoping this isn't also tied in with the fact that I have DRLs.

That's what I was thinking at first to i'll check today, but shouldn't the leds draw less power, so therefore I shouldn't need a bigger fuse. I'll check anyways.

Ive heard of there being major problems with HIDs and DRLs. I cant figure out why there would be a problem with the headlights on though. I would do some voltage measurments. Unless the new LEDs are being interfered with the ballasts if they are too close.

Well I emailed the tech guys at V-leds and this is what they said,

Hey Dirk,

It sounds like you have the resistor wired into the headlight power wire.
Test the wiring with a test light when all the lights are ON to find the
correct ground wire, or ground the resistor the chassis.

Regards,
James

Problem fixed i had the splice tap connected to the wrong wire.

This is where it all started I wanted to get rid of the remaining orange in the headlight when they are off, this is just the orange bulb being lit up by the sun.

This is the result after the LED's no more orange

This is where I mounted the resistor, it's one one of the bolt holding the fender onto the frame.

The resistor put in with the splice taps.

All taped and ready to be put back in the headlight housing.

Left side LED and the right side is stock bulb

In this picture I had the fourways on and you can see how much quicker the reaction time is in the LED bulb.

Here you can see how much more red the LED is on the snow

I don't have any pics of the rear install but it's just plug and play you only need one 3OHM 50watt resistor per side. I installed mine in the front just for the better mounting options.

If you want any different pics tomorrow i'm installing the other side so let me know by then.

P.S. Sorry for the long post
