Default Anyone know what this is used for...

Internet search says it is an "ignition capacitor". This fell out of the bumper cover when I removed it to replace the foglights. Obviously I dont think I broke it loose, probably just fell behind it when it was being replaced some time ago. Just wondering if anyone knows what it's used for.....

That suspiciously looks like the front air bag sensor for front crash.

The number on it is 56028644AB and what looks like a resistance range (250 - 0.47).

I am almost positive that is used as a back up capacitor for the air back system in case the battery fails. Let me also add that I have never seen them in the engine bay, only under that dash. If you go to page 1845 of the service manual it might be the top picture location

I get a random airbag light too, but Im not sure why. Last night I pulled in to the driveway and got an airbag light, parking brake light and an abs light. The codes say Im loosing connection with the different modules. It probably happens once to every 5000 miles or so.
