I would do a tune first. My exhaust caused me to loose some low end torque (I do have 3" duals so I kinda asked for it) .... but with the tune on a stock truck, I was able to smoke the tires like nothing. The flashpaq will do just fine. A cortex has a warranty, but kind of a waste of money. You would never be able to really prove the tune is what damaged the truck.
