I've had two Silverados, a Camaro and a 2002 Toyota Tacoma. I will not go back, this Dakota is by far my favorite vehicle my only complaint is that it comes way underpowered stock.

Yeah but at the end of the day you're still driving a Toyota.

No Rich, I would have it, lmao. I respect them putting a supercharged 5.7L into a Tacoma, but I wouldn't own one. I will put a supercharged 6.1 in mine before I even considered that, lol.

Between me, my Dad, brother-in-law, and 2 uncles; we've had 4 first gens.,2 second gens., 3 third gens., and a Raider. We've had 4 cylinders, V6s, V8s, autos, stick shifts, 2wds, 4wds, standard cabs, club cabs, & crew cabs...All have been great trucks for both work & play. I hope that my new 2011 is not really the end of the trail for my favorite truck!!

From what I can tell; its seems the end is near for all the midsize trucks including the Dakota, Colorado, and Tacoma. Not too many people are up for paying the price for a midsize when for a few thousand more they can get in to a full size. We all know the Dakota is gone, the Frontier is gone, so whos next?

Im kind of curious to see how long the Colorado will last; GM finally put a 300hp V8 in their midsize truck after having only the 4 and 6 cylinder (and the P.O.S. inline 5 that flopped) options since the S-10 was introduced in the 80s.

The Colorado had a limited run with a V8 but they stopped production.

I will keep building my truck because it's the perfect size and I love it. As long as I can fix it, I will keep it going. Only way I would get rid of it would be to buy a newer Dakota.

Hah, figures. Good ole GM.

I do agree Blown; the size of these trucks is awesome. Just enough to haul stuff when you need to, but still practical enough to squeeze 5 people in and take a road trip, and grandma wont need a step ladder to get in.

On a side note; I was behind a Frontier a while back and I saw "supercharged" on the tailgate. I wasnt able to get beside him to actually ask or anything, but I found out they actually made a supercharged Frontier .... unfortunatly for them, it was nothing too super: http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/..._cab-road_test
These car manufacturers couldve done great things with an actual midsize sport truck. They couldve developed trucks that wouldnt have competed with the full size truck market, but instead something completly different that was more of a truck with the attitude of a sports car.

Yes, nissan made a sc frontier for years, unfortunately the gains were not worth the extra money for it and it sucked gas like a big block. I almost got one in my 07 but decided against it.

yea our trucks are very similar to yota. in "theory" we could probably jack the coilover from that kit. doubt the bracketry would fit though.

and even though the bolt pattern for the coil hat "3 bolts that form a triangle" probably wouldnt be the same spacing. or size.

also the lower mount for that coilover is a heims "male" socket that fits INTO a control arm. our are female that fit OVER the control arm.
