Hey, just a note: I bought my JBA Headers from Auto Anything. I called them up and they price matched the site you posted earlier..AND I got free shipping, THEN.... if you rate the headers on their site, you get a coupon code for $10.00 off your next purchase!

So from what I have read, yall are saying it would be more practical to go with the high flow cat and high flow exhaust system than it would be headers and exhaust? is that correct?

If I read right, headers with stock cats/y-pipe is not going to do anything, but headers with free flowing (spintech) cats and true duals or a less restrictive y-pipe and single to duals will lead to better performance, but I dont know what the performance gains would be.

Would it be good if i leave stock headers put on spintech cats with an aftermarket cat-back exhaust system? if so how many cats are on the dakota? I see 2 in the pic but read somewhere there were 3 on the dakota.

If you werent going to boost or do head/cam work, I would probably stick my money in to other mods. Just my .02 ofcourse, but I think there are a few other things that may prove more benifical before messing with the cats; all depends on the budget. I would definetly do a cat-back exhaust, and possibly get rid of the stock y pipe as its very restrictive. Our Dakotas have 2 cats, 1 muffler thats taller than most midgets (probably depends on your state laws), and then 1-2 resonators. Some trucks have 1, others have 2 resonators.

what other mods would you be talking about? I do want to put on an exhaust and will replace the y pipe. just trying to get the most out of my exhaust system, but my budget is around 6-800 dollars but i am really leaning into exhaust for some good sound and some improvement on mpg, also wanting to do a CAI after exhaust.

A catback, superchips and intake will make a big dent in your wallet. An e-fan is supposed to give a big bang for the buck so it may be worth looking into as well.
