I currently have a 05 Dakota with a 6cd changer radio. Unfortunately this one does not have the aux input that I so desperately need for my Ipod. What I do have is an extra 06 dodge magnum radio with the aux input ready to go. All I really need to know is if I were to swap out the radios, which should fit just fine, would I lose the use of my steering wheel controls?
If I would lose the SWC, what is the best way I would be able to hook up an Ipod using my stock 6cd changer radio?

welcome to the forum! i had the same thing and got a single cd radio out of an 06 dak with the aux input. I did not lose my steering wheel mounted controls, u connect or satellite. It was plug and play. Here is the thread where I got all my answers:

Very awesome. I did try to search around a little bit and as you can see. Not enough. But I was going through all the threads since there seems to be only 19 pages of them. I would have definitely found it sooner or later.
But thank you and I will probably try to swap them out this weekend as well as re run an aux cable to my center console or something of that sort.

Oh and also, I'm guessing the radio bezel will just pop right out for me, correct?

 

Theres a screw or 2 on the bottom side right about the power outlet, and then it will pop right out.

Oh you know it! And I'm notorious for breaking little tabs off like the ones that are on top of the bezel... DIDNT EVEN BREAK THEM OFF. lol Very proud of myself.
