heat it up using a heat gun, and some floss. then buff out the remaining glue that will be stuck on the tailgate. well if its a sticker then no, but if its a raised decal type thing then yes.
well indoor or outdoor best way is to get a blow drier and a piece of Dental Floss and once you get it hot enough the dental floss should go through the sticky stuff on the back like glue...then just wax off the residue thats left over!
yeah, floss wont work so well on a decal. honestly, start peeling. I did my pin stripes and 4X4 stickers that way, just used my fingernail to get an edge and carefully started peeling them off. Then used goo-gone to get rid of any leftover adhesive. Wax afterward.
