Default Tuner Question

Ok, so I am sitting here waiting on my superchip 3865 to arrive any minute now, my question is, Which map is everyone using and which one should I run first? cant decide which one to put on the truck, some help would be great. Any information on the different tunes and what they do would be great info if anyone has it... thanks.

Depends on what gas you currently have. If you have regular, your limited to the 87 performance tune or the mileage tune. You need to have 91 octane gas or above for the other tunes. I run the 87 performance tune and am very happy with it. I did not notice that much of a difference when I ran the 91 tune last summer. With gas as high as it is now, I stick with the 87 tune. Thats me though...others live by there 91 tune or the towing tune. If gas ever gets reasonable again I might try those again. You live in Charlotte?

I'm also using the 87 tune. I didn't notice too much of a difference running the 91 tune to justify the $$$$. The milage saver tune didn't increase my mpg's at all. The 87 tune is great.

Start lout with the 87 tune and take it for a spin. The difference in shifting is worth the money alone. Just hope you never have to contact tech support for anything. They suck. I've been trying to download the trans package for two weeks now and still it wont down load correctly and they keep saying the problem is on my end.

87 and 91 honestly felt no difference! 87 is great and gets better gas mileage then the XS mileage saver that tune is a joke!

I agree with the others, the Mileage Tune is a joke...

87 and 91 are ok if you are doing WOT all the time. For basic driving, all that improved was the shifting IMO.

I agree... this is my go to tune and my favorite even though it requires 91 octane! I think its the best all around mpg, power and shifting!

Btw... if you guys forget what the tuner does, try driving around on stock tune for a bit, OOOPH! I am on the stock tune now and WOW! Its so much different and not in a good way.

I've never tried the tow tune, I guess now I have to give it a shot.
