Default Front Seats

I just purchased a 2005 Dakota Quad Cab. Both front seats will not recline.

Does anyone know how to repair this issue?

Welcome to the 3rd gen Dakota forum! I guess my first questions to you would be does the handle move? Does it feel like it is engaging anything? What position is the seat currently in? Straight up, forward? It is possible it is just jammed and needs some "persuasion"?

Are they power seats or manual seats?

I too have a question about my front seat. The back of my drivers seat tends to rock a little and its getting annoying. It seems as if the back is somewhat loose from the base of the seat. Its securely bolted to the floor but that rocking of about 1/4 to 1/2 an inch is really bothersome. Any suggestions on what i should be looking at? Anyone else get this problem on their rigs? Thanks guys!!

I notice mine sometimes when I brake... and sometimes when I am leaning forward. good let us know what ya find. I haven't had the wife or any passengers complain about movement on their side.

I have a power seat on the driver’s side and the passenger is manual. Both handles seem to be stuck, however I can persuade the driver’s side. When this happens the seat will fall to the full (~45 degrees) recline position and I have to pull it back upright.
I don’t adjust the driver’s side that often so it will not break my heart if I can’t fix it. But it will make for very long road trips if my wife’s seat will not recline…
As for the slight rocking, I seem to have that also but it only happen when I am messing with the seat or breaking really hard.
