Jack My Ride suspension lift tests

the only difference in OEM and lifted spindles are the location of the hub from top to bottom. lower the centerline of a hub and you get lift. as far as steering and balljoint slugs on the spindle. they are the same as OEM...or else there would be serious alignment problems.
you are absolutely true for a long travel...
but in a drop cross member to lower the control arms setup if the cossmembers holes are lowered 4 inches the knuckles will be 4 inch longer
so control arms stay parallel

and the length and rate of a lift coil for a ram. as well as the angle of the strut hat on a ram vs a dakota. being that a ram is wider. the angle of the strut from hat to contorl arm is probably a little steeper. i say you buy a ram lift and put everything that DOES bolt on. and let me know what we need to make for the parts that dont bolt on.
huh what???lol i think you are not use to dropped diff/cross member suspension lift setup ????

not for long travel. lift spindles are for any travel. i get how diff drops work. but im saying all the angles put into a Rams diff drop will be different than dakotas. but i think the taper of a ram spindle MIGHT also be bigger than a dakota balljoint. im not sure. these are just all the factors that would make a ram not fit.

Nothing, not a peep on the blog after the mention about the front drive shaft hitting the exhaust.
No real ball park figures other than up to over $4k for the top kit, I seem to remember seeing that some where.
What I find odd here is that Desert has not said a word. No hurray I got the lift installed, no screw u guys, I aint talking no more after that last post. I could understand Jack My Ride not putting pics up till the site is finished, but Desert I would think would be more than excited to put up even just one pic, crappy or not if he actually has the lift installed.
As for the brakes, resizing calipers and discs for increased stopping power when going to larger than stock tires is not totally unheard of. Kinda sucks for a bolt on kit tho. Look up the monster caliper conversion for 2nd gen rams. Given that our Dakota brakes are a bit weak as it is, I would be all for some larger discs, and better calipers, but the thing that would make the most difference is to put braided stainless brake lines on. Get rid of the expansion on the rubber hoses.

as a matter of fact, i wouldnt even try to fit a ram spindle on to the dak. the caster and anti dive might be set up different on a ram than a dakota. wouldnt really do MUCH. but it will steer weird and may nose dive when you slam the brakes. in reality all you guys really need is a taller neck on the spindle and some crossmember drop brackets with accentric tabs....
maybe i can make up something like this....
and then some plate crossmember drops would be a weekend job
