Default Serious electrical problems-05 Dakota V-8

My 05 dakota has 40000 miles on it and recently started having serious trouble with it; lights come on automatically, loss of turn signals, loss of stereo, loss of power to over head console, loss of gauges, all warning lamps come on yet the engine stays running. Computer shows many codes. Any input would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to the forum! You can start by disconnecting the negative of the battery and let the computer reset for a couple of hours. A lot of guys here had electrical problems , showing codes etc. and have done the battery disconnect trick and after a couple of hours got the battery connected again and problems solved!! Also check the plugs that go to the computer from the harness, maybe there's a bad connection there!

Good Luck!!

And post some pics. We love pics of trucks in here

Welcome aboard! Like Raven said, disconnecting the battery might work...

Welcome to the forum, I had all kinds of little electrical gremlins I figured was just a quirk until I found that the negative battery clamp was loose....these trucks do not like bad grounds, check all of them.

THANKS FOR THE ADVICE GUYS!! This is the first Dodge I have ever owned so Im not very familiar with them. After some research and finding out that there used to be an aftermarket remote start system in this truck I did some investigating behind the dash board and found that the wiring to the light switch had exposed wires which could cause some problems. I have taped up wires so they cant short and hope this solves my problem. So far so good. Funniest thing is I had this truck at the local dealers shop and somehow they either didnt see this or ignored it while it was apart.
