Fuel consumption problem
two questions, tire size, did those of you who went to larger tires see much of a drop in mpg? Also has anyone converted from a clutch fan to an electronic fan? I have heard this might be good for up to 2mpg?
I go w/ 265/70 on mine. But tests what was on it when I bought it. Really, does the electric fan really give u 2mpg's?
Ive noticed these trucks just get crappy mileage all around. I have a club cab 4x4 4.7l HO....ive been averaging 12-13 around town...but ill get 20 on the highway. I have a e-fan, intake, 50 series flow. and a throttle body spacer...but who know if that works. I got it for free so it was worth a shot. Is 12-13mpgs bad with the mods i have? I have 47K miles on the truck.
I just filled up after 400 km/s. I could have squeezed another 50 out of it maybe. So with about 70% highway only flooring it a handful of times, I can say I'm getting around 450 km/s out of a tank.
I only bought the truck as a weekend toy and to use when I need it to haul stuff, but I've been driving it for the past few weeks while my Caravan is broken down and really noticing the cost difference. Still love driving the truck though and as an occasional vehicle, it's worth it for the V8 power. I wonder how much a tonneau cover would help in mileage? There are some big claims out there in the ads, but anyone with a cover notice any real difference?

I did not notice any difference at all with the bed cover, however in all reality it probably did help, but the help is negligable. On the flipside, I love the roll up cover, easy and fast to use, and when I have stuff in the back and I need to stop, I do not worry someone will steal the stuff as it is hidden
I have seen no mileage difference with my tonneau, zip, zero nada. It's an old wives tale...just like putting down the tailgate improves mileage...lol
Mythbusters busted that myth; it actually made the mileage worse. Lmao.
