disable DRL ?
I "THINK" your kinda stuck being a Canadian truck. I thought those were required up there. I wanna say its a computer setting, but I doubt the dealer would disable it since that would make your truck illegal and the mountme's would come and get you.

DRL uses less power than full on. Since HIDs need the full power to the ballast they flicker instead. There might be a way to adjust the power to the DRL mode without disabling it..
Ya no dealer will ever turn off the DRLs because your Canadian (I have the same problem with my hids too)
There is a few things you can try
A DRL module

Go to a place that installs HIDs and see how they deal with DRLs,
Or do what i do and put the parking brake on till you see the light come on in the dash, that will turn off the DRLs also,

Will the module work on our trucks? and would that not engage the brake even if you like just press it?
no he means just enough to turn the light on the dash on so it "thinks" the ebrake is engaged. If yours is anything like mine, I have a mile of travel in my ebrake before the brake actually engages so it should not do any harm.

^^^ Exactly The only down fall to this method is the "DING" your truck telling you your EBrake is on but it only happens when you come to a stop. Drive-thrus are the worst LOL
For the module, it should work the only problem i see is the amp output of the module is only 500mA.
The ballast needs a certain amount of amps to ignite the bulbs and 500mA sounds low,
Module specs:
Input Voltage: 3V-14.5V,
Output: 14.5V/500mA

My e-brake actually barely works. It will not the hold the truck while idleing in drive..

Instead of pissing off your truck (and yourself) with an e-brake light on the dash, you can easily add an inline relay that will fix the problem.
Build a headlight Relay system
Go get 2 relays

and 2 relay sockets

You'll also need:
Red 14 gauge power wire. (usually comes on a roll of 20ft)
Heat shrink tubing
Electrical tape
Butt connectors and some rings for the battery and ground
Although you "can" use the connectors, I'd really recomend soldering your connections as it is for your headlights, and failure while driving could be very bad...
Total cost for all parts should be under 25 bucks.
The relay will make your DRL's burn like regular headlights. As for the regular low beams, they "should" stay unaffected, but may actually be brighter as they will now be fed directly from the battery. (however being HID I doubt it will have any effect on the brightness.
